About Carrie

I have been utilizing the Muscle Balance and Function Development® (MBF®) System since February 1996, working directly with the system’s founder for two years as a practitioner and educator.
In November 1998, I became a Licensed Affiliate of the parent company and started my own healthcare business. Based in San Diego, California, I worked from the Del Mar Chiropractic Centre (now referred to as Sheppard Spine and Sport Care), the Sorrento Valley Racquetball and Fitness Center and my clients’ homes. In addition to my practice in San Diego, I made monthly trips to work with clients in Reno, Nevada where I am originally from. In November 2003, I relocated to Reno and have since been expanding my practice under the name Back to Balance in the Reno/Tahoe area, San Diego and “virtually” via several internet platforms.

Prior to becoming an MBF® practitioner, I spent seven years as the Fitness Director and Personal Trainer for the Caughlin Club in Reno. My formal education includes studies in Exercise Science at the University of Nevada, Reno and 300 plus hours of the MBF® Education Program.

My Goal

My mission is to provide clients with a tool to help them live happy, healthy, functional lives.

Many people are suffering from “-itises” - tendonitis, bursitis, arthritis, etc. -and other painful conditions that could easily be alleviated with a simple set of personalized, corrective exercises. For many, there is:

No need for drugs with harmful side effects,

No need for invasive injections and

No need for multiple weekly trips to a physical therapy office.

Instead, I can personalize a program of 20 minutes or so that you can perform with household props right in your own home.

Providing this healing, self-empowering service through my Back to Balance (B2B) practice is my goal.

 

I hope also to educate my clients as to the nature of postural compensations that can cause pain and lack of function, such as an elevated hip and/or shoulder, “head forward” posture, forward projection of the pelvis, rotation of the trunk and/or lower body, and spinal curvatures.

 

Last but not least, I want to help you understand the neuromuscular process that occurs when you do your corrective exercises.

Simply put, you are actually “reminding” your body how to function properly. The human body wants to be pain free and function efficiently, but it often needs help. Utilizing the sound principles of Muscle Balance and Function® (MBF®), I can design a set of optimally sequenced exercises that will help you regain pain-free functioning.

 

We all want to live happy, healthy, pain-free lives. It is my goal to help all those willing to put the time into a B2B program to accomplish just that!
